This is an oil-free concealer infused with coconut water to help add moisture to the skin. It has hyaluronic acid and alpine rose. It’s supposed to be creamy and comfortable to wear. It’s also the palest shade available currently.

Shades Available

Light Medium – medium with peach undertones
Medium – tan with golden undertones
Medium Tan – with pink undertones

Deep Tan – with golden undertones
Dark – with golden undertones

I wanted to provide a helpful comparison of the Too Faced Very Fair concealer next to some of my pale concealers, as well as next to Too Faced Born This Way foundation in Snow.  For reference Cover FX Liquid Foundation in N0 is my perfect match right now. I can wear Too Faced Born This Way foundation in Snow if I add a tiny bit of white. With Urban Decay’s One & Done in Light I add about 50% white.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation swatches
I’ve swatched the Born This Way foundations 3 times, and I’ve never been happy with the shots, but I thought these also might be useful

Let me just say that I’m deeply disappointed in Too Faced Very Fair. It’s darker than the lightest shade in the Too Faced Born This Way foundation in Snow. If you wear Snow, don’t expect Very Fair to work as a concealer for you. It’s just not going to be light enough. From just playing around with Very Fair on my hand, it did oxidize to a darker shade. It also feathered, which I didn’t expect from a concealer. I’m guessing you’ll need to set it with a translucent setting powder.

It makes no sense to me to release concealers for their foundation line and not offer colors that work for all the shades. Usually concealers will work for 2 or 3 shades in a foundation line, since concealers need to be lighter than foundations.

What do you think of Too Faced Born This Way Concealer in Very Fair? Is it a shade you will wear? What’s your current favorite concealer?

  1. The shades seem like they’re just going to end up confusing people. I would have bought Fair, but by the looks of things I’ll need Very Fair.

  2. Very interesting seeing the concealers and foundations compared by color. I tried a sample of the foundation and really liked it. I might need to see if they have a concealer that could work for me some time.

  3. Surprisingly, that very fair one might work for me and I’m a medium tan! I don’t know why they would market it for pale skin!

  4. This is sad. I would expect it to be much lighter. I had high hopes for it. But on a positive note I can see that Snow in the foundation would be a good shade for me.

  5. Way too dark to be “very fair.” I hope they’ll expand the line, as they did with the foundations.

  6. Man, this right here is the story of my life. I am so happy I now have your blog to reference before I waste any more money!!

  7. All of their foundations are too dark for me, too. It’s disappointing, because it’s a nice foundation, but it doesn’t work at all unless I have sunless tanner on.

  8. Sadly dark for a fair shade. My favourite concealer for under the eyes so far is the Touche Veloutée By Terry in shade porcelain.

BTW your foundation/concealer swatches are so helpful. I ordered the Cover FX foundation in N0 after spotting it on your blog and its the best damn match I have found so far. I have this oddly warm-blueish-transparent undertone and usually end upp with an orange/muddy/yellow cast even after mixing in white. Not with his though iand it does not irritate my rosacea/eczema at all. Sooo happy 🙂

    1. So happy to hear it Emm! Yeah Cover FX is great for sensitive skin, in my opinion! It doesn’t bother my rosacea either.
