Best Beauty Splurges

Happy Makeup Wars Monday! Today we’re sharing the best beauty splurges we’ve indulged in. My best beauty splurges are, of course, cruelty free. These seven luxury items are worth every penny and I have no regrets about purchasing them. Many of these are vegan.

Best Beauty Splurges – Makeup

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer
The one primer I own that works with just about every foundation out there is the Hourglass Veil Mineral primer. I went through 3 mini samples of it from Sephora before I decided to splurge on the large tube of it. It’s one of the all-time best beauty splurges I’ve ever given in and bought. It’s an oil-free primer that somehow seems to work for my dry skin, as well as my friends who have normal and oily skin. It brightens my complexion, reduces my redness, and helps to minimize pores and fine lines. It has a very light texture, plus it has SPF 15, so think of it as a bonus to your daytime SPF.

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette Review Swatches Looks

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette
The Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette is a beauty splurge I think everyone should have. I pulled it out again recently and spent a lot of days playing with it over the past few weeks. It was the only eyeshadow palette that I took with me on my recent trip to LA. I think everyone should indulge in an Urban Decay palette. My ultimate go-to look with the Naked Ultimate Basics palette is this – apply eyeshadow primer. Set with translucent setting powder. Use Magnet (the grey) all over the lid, the crease and the lower lid. Highlight with whatever highligher you’re using on your face. Quick, easy look with minimal effort that really brings out my eyes. See my Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Review.

Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette Magnet Look

Wearing Urban Decay Frenemy Lipstick

My ultimate go-to look with the Naked Ultimate Basics palette is this – apply eyeshadow primer. Set with translucent setting powder. Use Magnet (the grey) all over the lid, the crease and the lower lid. Highlight with whatever highligher you’re using on your face. Quick, easy look with minimal effort that really brings out my eyes.

Best Beauty Splurges – Hair

oVertone Go Deep Weekly Conditioning Treatment

oVertone Go Deep Weekly Conditioning Treatment (also available at Urban Outfitters)
The oVertone Go Deep Weekly Conditioning Treatment is absolutely worth the splurge to keep my hair in great shape and my color vibrant. Go Deep is excellent to use on dry hair to revive color. I leave it on for at least an hour if I’m doing that. If you want to use it as a mask, you can do that as well. I would leave it in for at least a half hour. (vegan)

IGK Beach Club Texture Spray

IGK Beach Club Texture Spray
My friend Mickey recommended the IGK Beach Club Texture Spray to me so I decided to give it a try. This is my most recent beauty splurge. It’s an excellent salt-free texturizing spray that gives my fine, straight hair body without being sticky. It also works when I make my hair wavy. So pleased!

Best Beauty Splurges – Skin

Ren Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk

Ren Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk
The Ren Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk is the most hydrating cleanser that I’ve ever bought. When you wash your face with it, you can literally feel it hydrating your skin even as it cleans. It’s very soothing, too. (vegan and gluten free)

Ren Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream

Ren Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream
The Ren Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream is one of the best beauty splurges I’ve ever found for skincare. It’s incredibly hydrating and soothing on my dry, sensitive, rosacea skin type. It has chamomile in it, as well as other soothing ingredients to help reduce redness. (vegan and gluten free)

Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask

Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask
The Ren Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask is a 10-minute mask that immediately revives and soothes skin. If you feel super dry after a plane ride, this mask can help. You can also try leaving it on overnight as a sleeping mask. (vegan and gluten free)

  1. Some of my best beauty splurges are:
The UD Spectrum palette – I just can’t go past the glorious shade selection, even though a few too many are so sparkly.
Naked 1 – superior neutral tones
I am currently trying the Weleda range – the Weleda Gentle milk cleanser and Weleda Evening Primrose Age Revitalising Night Cream. I am very impressed – leaves my skin very hydrated and soothed.

  2. I recently pulled out all my UD Naked palettes to give them all a turn. They got buried in the pile but they are such classics.

  3. I tried that REN mask and so far I like it! I need to try it out a few more times. Naked Basics is definitely the ultimate shadow pick!
