Is Too Faced Cruelty-free?
Occasionally people will ask, is Too Faced cruelty-free? Too Faced and cruelty-free have been synonymous as long as I’ve known the brand. They were among the first brand to talk about having teddy bear hair brushes, as opposed to animal fur.
About Too Faced
Unimpressed and distressed by the too-serious-state of the cosmetics industry, they longed to start a company that brought back unapologetic glamour and femininity. Inspired by a love of Paris, unabashed girliness and the transformative power of cosmetics, they created Too Faced, a boutique brand with big dreams. Today, Too Faced has grown into a leader within the beauty industry, creating innovative cruelty-free cosmetics that women love to wear. With Jeremy as CEO/Action Man and Jerrod as Chief Creative Officer/Dreamer, their rebellious spirit, visionary focus and unexpected humor define the brand to this day.
What is Too Faced’s Animal Testing Policy?
We do not test on animals! No way, Too Faced loves animals! Our products are totally cruelty-free. In fact, our brushes are made with the softest and gentlest teddy-bear hair.
Too Faced’s animal testing policy is very clear.

Who owns Too Faced?
Too Faced is owned by Estée Lauder. Estée Lauder hates animals and has a very bad animal testing policy. This is why people worry about Too Faced.
Is Too Faced PETA Certified?
Yes, Too Faced has been PETA certified since 2001. Estée Lauder is allowing Too Faced to retain its cruelty-free status and PETA certification. Too Faced has been PETA certified for almost 20 years, which I think speaks to their stance on cruelty-free being important to the brand.
Is Too Faced Leaping Bunny certified?
No, I wish they would get Leaping Bunny certification. Leaping Bunny Certification is the gold standard for cruelty-free.
So is Too Faced cruelty-free?
Yes, Too Faced is cruelty-free. They’re not currently selling anywhere that animal testing is mandatory. Their parent company, Estée Lauder, is not cruelty-free. Too Faced has been PETA certified for almost 20 years. Unlike MAC, they have not switched their stance to sell in China.
