Cruelty Free Top 10 Drugstore Hair Products

Today I’m sharing my Cruelty Free: Top 10 Drugstore Hair Products. People always tell me it’s hard to shop cruelty free at the drugstore, so I wanted to share some cruelty free drugstore brands you can look for. When I say drugstore, I’m referring to brands that I can find at Ulta, Target, Walgreens, CVS or Publix. I’ve also included a list of the best cruelty free drugstore brands to make it easy to find great cruelty free drugstore hair products at your local drugstore, Ulta or Target.

Top 10 Drugstore Hair Products

1. Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer
I’d been using the DermOrganic Spray therapy for years but when I finally tried the Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer I fell in love. It’s a light, dry spray that does it all. It detangles, nourishes, strengthens, softens, cuts drying time, adds shine, reduces frizz, and protects against thermal, environmental and uv damage. Argan oil helps to hydrate the hair while sunflower seed oil nourishes. I’ve used it before blow drying or flat ironing my hair and been thrilled with the results. (Leaping Bunny Certified)

2. Sexy Hair Push Up Dry Thickening Spray
The Sexy Hair Push Up Dry Thickening Spray works exactly as the name suggests. I spray it in my roots after I flat iron or curl my hair and it helps to add volume. My fine, thin hair loves it!

3. It’s a 10 Miracle Deep Conditioner Plus Keratin
The It’s a 10 Miracle Deep Conditioner Plus Keratin is really a miracle mask. It lives up to its name in all ways. My hair felt like silk after using it. It’s now in my masking routine. I couldn’t believe how soft and smooth it makes my hair after using it. (Leaping Bunny Certified)

4. Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Shampoo
The Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Shampoo is on my must-try list! It’s brand new and my friend Jen from My Beauty Bunny was raving about it. It’s made with 100% Virgin Coconut oil, as the name implies, as well as shea butter oils. It also has coconut milk and acacia senegal for additional hydration. My dry hair will love it!

5. Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Conditioner
The Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Conditioner sounds even better than the shampoo. Made with 100% Virgin Coconut and Shea oils, it also has coconut milk and acacia senegal to hydrate and reduce frizz.

6. Eva NYC Freshen Up Dry Shampoo
It’s been hard to find a dry shampoo that I love as much as Batiste (no longer cruelty free), but I finally found one with Eva NYC! This smells good and feels good. (Leaping Bunny Certified)

7. Eva NYC Forget Me Knot Dry Conditioner
The Eva NYC Forget Me Knot Dry Conditioner is great for getting rid of tangles. I use it from around my chin to the ends of my hair. (Leaping Bunny Certified)

8. Sexy Hair Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray
Sexy Hair Big Sexy Hair Spray & Play Volumizing Hairspray is an awesome hair spray that lives up to its name. It’s able to help hold my style in place without making my hair feel too stiff.

9. Eva NYC Surf’s Up! Texture Spray
Eva NYC Surf’s Up! Texture Spray is on my to-try list. It’s supposed to help create beachy waves, add volume and texutre. All things I want with my hair, which is perpetually straight unless I curl it. (Leaping Bunny Certified)

10. It’s a 10 Miracle Whipped Styling Balm
It’s a 10 Miracle Whipped Styling Balm is great for smoothing and hydrating my hair. I like to use it if I’m doing the overnight wavy hair twist. (Leaping Bunny Certified)

  1. Thanks for the great info, as always! I love It’s a 10 stuff, but have never tried Eva NYC, so now my Amazon basket is full.

  2. Hask is a wonderful brand for hair care and it’s cruelty free, sulfate free, etc. 🙂

  3. While I LOVE 100% Pure, it is far from a drugstore brand. Outside of California, it’s only available online, and at it’s own store fronts.

  4. There are some salon brands on this list. Salon brands should never be purchased anywhere but the salon or Ulta. Why pay the high price of salon products for a likely tampered-with/diluted/etc product? It’s diversion and shady.

    1. I listed them because you can find them at Ulta. Ulta is an authorized retailer. If you look above, I state “When I say drugstore, I’m referring to brands that I can find at Ulta, Target, Walgreens, CVS or Publix.”

  5. Burts Bees is not cruelty free I am afraid ? the only way you can be 100% sure is to either email or phone these companies because some of these that say they are cruelty free maybe telling the truth but then they sell in their products in China where by law animals have to be tested on so if they sell their products in China boycott them. I even refuse to buy Body Shop products because they are owned by Loreal who conduct vile cruel tests on animals so when you purchase Body Shop products your giving money to Loreal ?

    1. There was an issue for a while where Tashina (Logical Harmony), Jen (My Beauty Bunny) and I did not think that Burt’s Bees was cruelty free. After waiting several months for a detailed response from Burt’s Bees and then confirmation from Leaping Bunny, I moved Burt’s Bees back to my cruelty free list.

I support brands that are cruelty free even if their parent company is not cruelty free. I believe it will lead to the elimination of animal testing. My Beauty Bunny and Logical Harmony feel the same way. You can see my cruelty free list and beliefts here https://phyrra.net/cruelty-free-makeup-brands-list.html

  6. Great list, I’m so happy that It’s a 10 and SheaMoisture are on your list! We (my family and I) use them always!

  7. What great CF picks, Courtney! I have a few things from It’s a 10 that I am testing! I need to pick up some of the Shea Moisture haircare products!
