Paula’s Choice RESIST Youth-Extending Daily Fluid SPF 50

Paula's Choice RESIST Youth-Extending Daily Fluid SPF 50 Review

Today I’m happy to share with you my thoughts on the Paula’s Choice RESIST Youth-Extending Daily Fluid SPF 50. I’ve been waiting for Paula’s Choice to make an SPF 50 facial sunscreen that I could comfortably wear and they finally have! I need higher than SPF 30 for my daily wear because of my rosacea and sensitivity. Paula’s Choice is cruelty free and this is a vegan sunscreen.

This is not a water resistant sunscreen, so if you’re going to be in the pool or at the beach, opt for a different formula.

This is an awesome daily use sunscreen for normal / oily / combo skin. My skin is currently sensitive combo – oily eye lids, slightly oily t-zone, dry under the eyes, and normal to slightly dry everywhere else on my face right now. When I use this sunscreen, I apply it liberally (avoiding my eyes) to my face, neck, decolette and the backs of my hands. What I absolutely love about it is that there is no greasy feeling or slightly tacky feeling left on the skin after it dries down, and it dries down fast. When I touch my face after I’ve applied it, it feels like normal skin. So I really like that. Sometimes after I apply moisturizer with SPF I have to blot to remove excess moisture. I think this is perfect for during the summer.

This is a moisturizer with SPF that I really need to stick to using in the summer since it’s less moisturizing (perfect for hot, humid weather), but in the dryness of winter, I’ll have to reach for a more hydrating formula. I have considered adding the Hyaluronic Acid Booster to this to make it slightly more moisturizing for my drier skin days, but I wasn’t sure how much this would lower the SPF, so what I’ve done instead is mix the Hyaluronic Acid Booster with the Josie Maran 100% Light Argan Oil and applied that as a serum before putting on this sunscreen.

As I mentioned, I avoid my eyes when I use this sunscreen. It irritated my eyes, so I’m sticking to my Supergoop SPF 37 for my eyes (which is more moisturizing and I need that under my eyes anyways).

This SPF 50 moisturizer is slightly less moisturizing than the Paula’s Choice PC4Men SPF 30, however my husband has decided he likes this better than the PC4Men SPF 30. He likes the dry down better on this. His skin is on the oily side.

So if you have normal / combo / oily skin, definitely consider the Paula’s Choice RESIST Youth-Extending Daily Fluid SPF 50.

I really love the RESIST Anti-Aging collection and I think this is a much needed addition to it! My favorites from the collection include the Hydrating Cleanser, Super Antioxidant Serum, Hyaluronic Acid Booster, and Moisture Renewal Oil Booster. I really like the Intensive Repair Cream but I wish it didn’t have retinol in it. (there needs to be a non-retinol anti-aging version of this!)

Do you use different moisturizers with SPF in the summer and winter?

  1. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Paula’s Choice products over the years and I am quite interested in their RESIST line. This facial sun screen does sound really nice for summer.

  2. I wish I could use this, it sounds wonderful — especially the matte effect. I have rosacea and chemical sunscreens wreck my face. I’m religious about sunscreen, but the only ones I can use are physical (titanium dioxide, zinc oxide), and they always leave a shiny, heavy finish and feel. 🙁

  3. If this worked for your sensitive skin, I bet it would with mine! Thank you so much for sharing about Paula’s Choice! <3 I need to try something soon! <3

  4. This is a great product to use all year round in warmer climates. Sunscreen is so important and this is another great review of a product that is cruelty free and vegan.

  5. Glad to hear this worked well! It’s so hard to find sunscreens with high SPF AND that work on oily skin.

  6. This sounds like a really fantastic formula! I love that it is an SPF 50! It’s definitely going on my list of must-try sunscreens! Excellent review!

  7. Even though I may need more hydration than this gives, I love that it’s an spf 50 and that it doesn’t leave anything behind on the skin. I am using the PC Skin Reocvery daytime moisturizer with spf 30, and I would like a high spf plus it is actually too heavy for the summer. However, summer in New England will probably end in a few weeks so next year, lol!
