Fyrinnae Winter 2013 Review

Fyrinnae Winter 2013 Review, Swatches, Video

Hi there! Today I’ve got the Fyrinnae Winter 2013 Collection review for you. As you may already know, Fyrinnae is a vegan indie makeup company and they make a ton of awesome products. In addition to gorgeous eyeshadows and their arcane magic specialty line, they also make blushes, Pixie Epoxy, lip lustres, bronzers and more. For the Winter collection they released 7 eyeshadows, 1 blush and 1 lip lustre.

Eyeshadows

Fyrinnae Because Cats
Because Cats
A wine-grape violet layered on a dark base, sprinkled with a rainbow of sparkle. What does this name have to do with winter? Everything and nothing. Not lip-safe.
My Take
grape violet with rainbow sparkle

Fyrinnae Snowboarding

Snowboarding
Vibrant purple which sometimes appears cool with a blue hue, sometimes it’s more warm. Other times it just sits in the middle, undecided. No sparkle, but a fine shimmer finish. Not lip-safe. (“Seriously guys, why is Snowboarding purple?” We have no answer for this)
My Take
bright vibrant purple with a subtle blue sheen (and my opinion is that snowboarding is purple because you end up bruised when you start out!)

Fyrinnae Sled Puppies

Fyrinnae Winter 2013 Swatches, Review, Video
You can see the blue sparkle in Sled Puppies in this shot.

Sled Puppies
Gleaming, shimmery transparent white gold graced with a touch of light blue sparkle. Much prettier in person!Snow-covered pups and wagging tails not included.
My Take
iridescent white gold with icy blue sparkles

Fyrinnae Frostbytes

Frostbytes
Striking metallic deep silver. Not sparkling like our chrome, but more of a liquid metal. Too bright to be called pewter, but deeper than sterling. Not lip-safe.
My Take
deep metallic silver

Fyrinnae Peppermint Vodka

Peppermint Vodka
Lush, rich, shimmering burgundy enhanced with copper sparkle. The hell, guys? Vodka isn’t burgundy! Neither is peppermint. Sure, but our last one simply called “Vodka” was green. We strive for colour, not sense.
My Take
burgundy with copper sparks

Fyrinnae Fireside Interlude

Fireside Interlude
Molten bright copper? Metallic gold on red? You decide. It is a firey, warm blend of hues with a metallic finish, and will appear differently depending on how it’s applied, much like Mephisto. Great for “sunset” looks.
My Take
rusty orange with gold iridescence

Fyrinnae Boost Season
Boost Season
Multi-faceted green, somewhere between sage and pine on a soft dark base, and graced with hues of brown and rust. Not lip-safe.
My Take
pine green with blue sparkle on a dark base

Fyrinnae Winter Romance Lip Lustre Nordic Angel Blush Swatches Review Video
Blush

Fyrinnae Nordic Angel
Nordic Angel
Vibrant pinky-peach blush. Not as bright or orange-toned as Enchant. Lip-Safe, not eye-safe.
My Take
peachy pink, vibrant, matte

Lip Lustre

Fyrinnae Winter Romance Lip Lustre

Fyrinnae Winter Romance Lip Lustre
Winter Romance
Rich, velvety dark red. Not leaning maroon like Dragon’s Blood, this sultry shade should suit most skintones. This shade is shimmer-free (we call that matte, but the Lustres do have shine).
My Take
rich dark red, no shimmer

  1. peppermint vodka, winter romance and boost season are gorgeous! how does boost season compare with UD zodiac?

    1. It lacks the gold and blue that you see in Zodiac. Zodiac has more fallout unless you use Pixie Epoxy. I really love Zodiac and I think it’s a more complex shade than Boost Season.

  2. Beautiful collection! I’m wishing I picked up Snowboarding now… it looks more shimmery in your swatch than it did on the website, but maybe that’s just me.

  3. Peppermint vodka is a major win! Love them all though, and you are gorgeous by the way.
