The 6 pigments I pressed last night are done. I’m actually worried that I didn’t leave them in Phase 1 long enough, and didn’t allow them to dry out enough before I put the jeans and coins and books on top of them for Phase 2. You can see where I touched each of them with my finger to see how pigmented they are. For all of these pigments, it took over half of their containers to press them. I was fine with that, but other people may not like that.
After checking them, only Restless and Peony came out. Fume, Mystery, BlackPlanet and BackInblack crumbled, but because I knew that was a possibility, I was able to get them all back into their containers without losing any product.
Coastal Scents sells a Pressing Medium specifically for mineral makeup that I will order and try with those colors.
I just mixed up 6 more this morning. They’re all Aromaleigh shades.
Eye Lustre Odette – The purity of white with a twist of opal gleam highlights.
Pure Hue Brocade – An iridescent gold/red fine shimmer.
Rocks! Sonic LadyStarDust – Stellar deep purple blue with a glam-load of glitter. blacklight reactive.
Eye Lustre Lillith – A truly chameleon-like shade in a base of heathery grey you can see highlights of green, blue and violet.
Gothic Lolita Velvet Dream – Vivid deep gothic garnet with pink sparks.
Pure Hue Moire – A fine-medium iridescent red/gold shimmer.
I’ve been repeatedly dropping them to even out the batter. I’m currently letting them dry a long time before I put them under the books to press.
We’ll see which ones last and which ones crumble. I’ll be sure to post my results.
