Hello beautiful friends! Today I’m sharing my Kaleidos Twilight Rush Quad review with you. Kaleidos is one of my favorite beauty brands, and their eyeshadow formula is wildly underrated. I rarely buy quads, but something about this cool-toned purple eyeshadow palette pulled me in. As it turns out, I absolutely love it!

Kaleidos describes the Twilight Rush quad palette as a fusion of cool-toned purple mattes, a twinkling matte black, and a sparkling lilac to pink duochrome, and invites you to “lose yourself in the rush of urban romance beneath electric skies.” How romantic goth of them! The brand makes four key claims for this formula:

After wearing it, I can tell you the formula delivers on all four.

The Packaging
The Kaleidos Twilight Rush Quad packaging is absolutely stunning! It looks beautiful on my makeup vanity and it’s small enough to live in my makeup bag. The compact size and sturdy design make it ideal for travel. I love the soft pink, purple, and indigo coloring.
The back of the quad tells you that it’s a cruelty-free and vegan purple eyeshadow quad.
Kaleidos Twilight Rush Swatches
Swatches are the heart of any Kaleidos Twilight Rush Quad review, so here are mine, photographed on my pale olive skin in indirect outdoor sunlight and direct sunlight.
Don’t let the ashen lilac fool you. On the hand swatch it looks like it will disappear into my skin, but on the eyes it makes my cyan eyes pop!
The Formula: Texture, Pigmentation, and Fallout
The mattes feel incredibly smooth, and they blend into each other seamlessly with minimal effort. You can apply them with your fingertips whenever you don’t want to reach for a brush. I prefer to press the duochrome on with my fingertips or with a silicone finger brush, since both methods pack the shimmer down instead of scattering it. Either way, the pigmentation shows up in a single layer. As for fallout, I don’t get any from this formula, with fingers or with a brush, and that includes Radiate and the black.
The Makeup Look: Everyday Purple Smoky Eye
For this everyday purple smoky eye featuring the Kaleidos Twilight Rush Quad, I swept the ashen lilac matte across my whole lid first. Then I blended the muted indigo-gray along my lower lash line. I love how Kaleidos Twilight Rush works with my pale olive skin and cyan eyes.
In the photos above I added a touch of Cheeryep #16 (glitter chameleon purple, blended with the Radiate shade).
In the quick look above I applied Radiate all over with my fingertip and then dabbed Base at the outer corner with my fingers. No brushes and no eyeshadow primer, because this was a quick look for photos rather than an all-day wear, but you can see how impactful Radiate is on its own. It’s so glowy and blends out effortlessly!
Wear Test: How Long Does Twilight Rush Last?
Kaleidos Twilight Rush lasts all day on me with an eyeshadow primer underneath. So far I’ve tested it with the Kaleidos Tone Activator Eye Primer, the KIKO Milano Neutral Eye Primer, and the Karla Cosmetics Fix Potion. Every one of them held the color from morning until I took my makeup off, with no creasing and no fading.
Who Should Buy the Kaleidos Twilight Rush Quad?
Do you have cool or neutral undertones? Do you have blue, green, hazel, or cyan eyes like mine? Are you new to makeup and looking for a palette that’s hard to get wrong? Do you have hooded or deepset eyes? If you answered yes to two or more of these questions, then the Kaleidos Twilight Rush quad belongs in your collection. Brown eyes work beautifully with it too, because the black and indigo mattes are gorgeous on them.
On the other hand, skip it if you already own a large cool-toned purple palette, or if you avoid talc in your makeup.
What I Loved and What I Did Not
I’ve praised this palette throughout my Kaleidos Twilight Rush Quad review, so let me get specific. The packaging looks beautiful, the eyeshadow formula is one of the best I’ve used, the price is affordable, the color story works hard, and the compact size makes it ideal for travel.
As for what I did not love, I only have one nitpick. I wish Kaleidos filled it to a full .20 oz, so that each shade came in at .05 oz. That’s it. That’s the only thing I can complain about.

I love the Kaleidos Twilight Rush Quad, and I’m so glad I finally decided to buy it. In fact, my only regret is waiting this long to try the Kaleidos quads at all. Between the beautiful packaging, the affordable price, the well-thought-out color story, and the way these eyeshadows perform and wear, I’m completely hooked. Overall, this cool-toned purple eyeshadow palette earns my highest recommendation.

That contrast is what makes green and hazel eyes look brighter and more saturated. On blue and cyan eyes like mine it works a little differently: purple sits right beside blue on the wheel, so it harmonizes with your eye color while the cool tone keeps the contrast crisp. Both routes lead to the same place, which makes this an excellent purple eyeshadow palette for blue, green, or cyan eyes. Brown eyes can absolutely wear it too, because the black and indigo mattes flatter them beautifully.
What skin tones and undertones does Twilight Rush suit?
This is a cool-toned palette, so it sits most naturally on cool and neutral undertones. The ashen lilac has become my favorite base shade, and I like to blend the indigo-gray into it. Does Twilight Rush work on hooded or deepset eyes?
Yes! This cool-toned purple eyeshadow palette flatters both hooded and deepset eyes. My eyes used to be hooded and they’re now deepset, so I’ve applied eyeshadow both ways. Makeup artists often recommend mattes for hooded eyes, and these mattes apply easily. Start by sweeping the ashen lilac matte all over your lid, just like I did in my makeup look. Then blend the indigo-gray matte through the crease, carrying it slightly above the crease so it stays visible when your eyes are open. Do you need an eyeshadow primer for the duochrome shade?
No, Radiate doesn’t need a special sticky primer. It works beautifully over the Kaleidos eyeshadow primer and over every other primer I’ve tested. You can always spritz your brush with Karla Cosmetics Mist Potion to intensify the shimmer, though these eyeshadows are plenty impactful without it. Do you need a primer at all? If you’re applying eyeshadow for deepset eyes or hooded eyes, then yes. Back when my eyes were hooded, my eyeshadow would disappear in 20 minutes or less. An eyeshadow primer keeps your makeup looking great all day instead.
Is there fallout, and does it crease?
No, I get no fallout and no creasing from this formula. When you apply the eyeshadow with your fingertips, fallout simply doesn’t happen. When you use a brush, dip and swirl the brush first, then tap it lightly against your finger before you bring it to your eye. That small step reduces the chance of fallout landing on your face. An eyeshadow primer prevents creasing and fading, especially on hooded and deepset eyes.
Is the Kaleidos Twilight Rush Quad beginner friendly?
Yes, and that’s one of my favorite things about it. All four shades in this cool-toned purple eyeshadow palette live in the same color family, so a beginner can’t really make them look muddy. It’s far easier to work with than a rainbow palette. Accentuate is a true black, so use a light hand there.

Yes! You can use these cruelty-free purple eyeshadows wet or as eyeliner. I like to smoke the matte black out on top of my eyeliner, which softens the line and makes it last longer.

Yes, I can and I do. I still like to add Kaleidos Moon Cruiser to highlight under my brows and at my inner corners.
