Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Intensive Skin Repair Serum Review

I picked up the Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Intensive Skin when I grabbed the Overnight Hydrating Cream from Drugstore.com for 20% off. I tend to be a sucker for a good serum. It makes sense, since I’m not a fan of toners.

The Website Claims:
help improve skin firmness, protect skin, diminish fine lines and wrinkles, and nourish age-damaged skin.

The Ingredients are:
Vaccinium Cyanococcus Juice (Blueberry), Water, Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) Extract (Certified Organic Ingredient), Glycerin, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Oil (Oat), Alcohol, Xanthan Gum, Onopordum Acanthium Extract (Cotton Thistle Flower/Leaf/Stem), Pyrus Malus Fruit Extract (Apple), Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Seed Oil (Blackcurrant), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil (Jojoba, Certified Organic Ingredient), Oryza Sativa Bran Extract (Rice, Certified Organic Ingredient), Lecithin (Certified Organic Ingredient), Phenethyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Fragrance

Price:
$19.99 for 1 fl. oz. (though I got it for 20% off)

Does it live up to its claims?
I think it does. It’s got cotton thistle in it as a key ingredient. Cotton Thistle has been shown to promote cell regeneration within the epidermis. It stimulates cell repair and promotes hydrated, softer skin. And let’s not forget the fruit that gives this product its name! Blueberries, which are a super food, have higher levels of antioxidants than green tea and red wine combined. So not only are they good to eat, they’re good for your skin.

Would I purchase again?
Yes. I like to use this serum before I put on my morning moisturizer, to give my skin a little extra TLC in the morning. It’s very wet, and a little goes a long way when you’re smoothing it over your face and neck. I feel like it gives my skin a nice little boost.

Do you like serums? Have you tried this one?

Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

  1. I feel iffy about serums because I can never just use them on their own. I do have this one though! like it a lot, smells good too. also, it hasn’t ‘discolored’ like I was afraid it might (have had it for almost six months now)

    1. Yeah I think it’s a really good serum. I’ve tried a lot and it’s my favorite. I do like to use it before my moisturizers.

  2. I picked up the Yes to Carrots serum at Ross the other day, for $6.00! I’m going to have to go back and pick up a few more, because I really like it. I’m not sure at this point if it’s doing much repair or anything of that nature, since I’ve only been using it about a week or two, but I like the way it makes my skin feel. I apply it before my moisturizer but sometimes just wear it all by itself, if I’m having an oily day.

  3. I might be picking this up soon! Great review as always. I didn’t know that Cotton thistle was involved with cell regeneration. SOLD!

  4. This does look good. I’m a recent convert to serums, and right now I’m loving SN’s vitamin c peptide serum. Would like to try the blueberry one, too, but it’s a bit more expensive!

  5. I almost picked up some of the Yes to Blueberries line the other day, but I decided I need to run a few 2 week test of the Fresh SoyFace Cream before I start testing out other things. My favorite moisturizer was discontinued so I’m testing around to find a replacement. I like that their stuff comes in pumps/bottles. I hate when things come in jars (the one big downside to my old favorite!)

  6. I think I might pick this up. I’ve been looking for a more naturally inclined serum. Did you notice improvement/difference in your skin after using it for a while?

    1. I think the biggest reason for improvement in my skin is from using this, the matching cleanser, and the retinol resQ product.

  7. wow i wonder if it works for me, i do have a sensitive skin. but i haven’t see yes to over here. Thats a shame.

  8. I’ve used this serum now for a few months and I really like it. I definitely feel like it’s done wonders to repair my poor (previously) mistreated skin! Hyperpigmentation has been diminished, the texture is smoother. I use it twice a day, though, before my moisturizer, and usually let it sit for five or so minutes before putting something else on top of it.

  9. I’ve never used a serum as I’ve never been sure where it would fit into my skin care regime. All the various layers confuse me! lol (For example in the AM is cleanser, moisturizer and then SPF. For PM it’s cleanser, niacinamide toner, moisturizer, eye cream.)

  10. I think I’ll try this as my evening moisturizer after I run out of my current serum. Serums seem to work better for my skin than creams at night.

  11. I’ve been curious about the blueberry line since I know blueberries are so great for the skin 🙂

  12. I love serums! I use The Body Shop’s Natrulift, though. I might check this Yes To Blueberries (et al) line out because they carry it at the Navy Exchange…
