Urban Decay Perversion Angled Brush

Perversion Angled Brush – $16
Use this angled brush to draw razor-thin lines or bold, thick lines. Like all of our brushes, it’s artist-quality AND cruelty-free! We needed the ultimate brush to go with our Super-Saturated Eyeliner, so we meticulously designed this small, angled brush until it had the perfect angled shape and thickness. Even thinner than our Good Karma Liner Brush, this brush is extra precise and extremely versatile. Use it to draw razor-thin lines or bold, thick lines. The Perversion Angled Brush is super precise and gives you a ton of control. While we designed it specifically for use with Super-Saturated Eyeliner, it works equally well with our other liners or our Brow Box. Or get it wet and dip it into one of our iconic Eyeshadows to turn any shade into liquid eyeliner! Diameter variation in the brush hairs provides more surface area—for optimal pickup and laydown. Like all of our brushes, the Perversion Angled Brush is cruelty-free, vegan and ecofriendly. The brush hair (made from a material derived from recycled PBT plastic bottles) is super soft. Plus, synthetic brush hair doesn’t hold on to gross bacteria the way porous animal hair can (yuck!). And because the surface of the bristles is more regular than brushes made from real hair, synthetic brushes are easier to clean and more hygienic.

Urban Decay Summer 2014 Eyeliners Review and Swatches

From left to right – Cream eyeliner, Ink for Eyes pen, All Nighter eyeliner, and Black Velvet pencil

Wearing Urban Decay Summer 2014 Liners

My Thoughts
I tested all 4 shades in a hot shower on the back of my hand with no eyeshadow primer as base, running them directly under the water. They didn’t budge. I rubbed my fingers across them and they still didn’t budge. Finally, when I took soap and water and scrubbed at them with my  loofah they came off.

Urban Decay Summer 2014 Liners Review

I tested out Ink for Eyes Precision Waterproof Pen on my upper lashline. It was super easy to apply. Once it set (on top of my primer and foundation), it did not transfer on my hooded eyes in my crease. However, when I curled my lashes, it did come off on my lash curler. When I went to reapply it in the places it had rubbed off, it was hard to get it to adhere. I was finally successful with it. It wore for 12 hours before I took it off, all without transferring or smudging for me. I also tested this pen without primer, out of curiosity. Without primer, it transferred into my crease. The one concern that I have with this style of pen is that in the past when I’ve used them, they’ve dried out quickly. This is not to say that the the UD one will do this, just that the thought crossed my mind.

I tested out All Nighter Eyeliner on my outer lower lash line. It was easy to apply and easy to smudge. It didn’t budge during the 12 hours I wore it. I love the fact that you don’t have to sharpen it. It’s also a gorgeous deep shade.

I tested out Super-Saturated Ultra Intense Waterproof Cream Eyeliner in Perversion on my upper waterline and at the root of my lashes. It didn’t transfer to my lower waterline. It has the PERFECT cream eyeliner texture. It wore for 12 hours before I took it off. I absolutely love this! It’s awesome.

The Perversion Angled Brush is nice. It’s not too thick. It’s easy to use it with the cream liner, though I still prefer my teeny tiny push brush. It’s easy to clean and didn’t shed when I washed it.

Wearing the Cream liner on my waterline.

Of the 4 new eyeliner formulas, I prefer the Super-Saturated Ultra Intense Waterproof Cream Eyeliner because I tightline and line my waterline more than I do any other type of liner lately. That style is supposed to be the most flattering type that you can do on hooded eyes. However, I still prefer cream / gel liners like this for when I want to do a cat eye, too. The formula on the UD Cream is pretty amazing. So far for the few days I’ve been wearing it, it has not come off on my contacts at all. Once it’s on and set, it’s not budging. So this is my perfect, versatile liner.

What do you think of the new Urban Decay Summer 2014 Eyeliners? Which is your perfect liner?

Pros

  • Vegan
  • Cruelty free
  • Waterproof
  • Great variety
  • Good value for the price

  1. i’m excited to try the cream liner as i’ve yet to find one that doesn’t smudge on me! how do the pencils compare to their regular 24/7 counterparts? are they worth considering if i already own multiples of zero and perversion?

    1. I prefer the new formula to the old. I was never too fond of Zero to begin with, but I always loved the Perversion 24/7. However, with my allergies, Perversion would sometimes come off on my contacts, clouding my vision. The new formulas, so far, have not come off on my contacts despite my allergies, though I have only used the cream liner on my waterline, not the pencils.

  2. Thanks for the reviews on these.I can’t wait to get the cream liner but the ease of the automatic liner is what got me the most excited.as It’s easier for me to use that style to line a thin line then with a regular pencil let alone u d’s always having to sharpen ones.ive actually been wiping my eyeliner brush across my ud pencils, but it defeats the purpose.i have used gel & cream for yrs but wanted a few pencils for quick out the door/on the run application.

  3. Great reviews! I have a question about the Ink for Eyes pen. Is the formula similar to their 24/7 liquid liner? I absolutely hated that liner because it would flake off during the day and it makes a big mess when I remove it with a makeup remover. I certainly hope UD improved that formula!

  4. I usually reach for a pencil, but I love the little pots of gel liner, especially when I’m going for a more dramatic look. That one really is black, black, black! Love it against that pop of turquoise!

  5. So exciting! How quickly does the cream liner set – I have shaky hands when I do eyeliner so I need that extra time to get my lines smooth! I also quite like the look of the All Nighter!

    1. I felt like it set pretty quickly, because it didn’t get onto my lower waterline when I applied it on my upper waterline, which I really appreciate. But it was easy to apply and work with. If you use short strokes it will be fine, I think.

  6. I really want to try the gel eye liner, since I’m getting back into eyeliners

  7. That cream liner is to die for. Also, I’m so jealous of your eyelashes! What mascara do you use?

    1. In the picture with Gonzo eyeshadow, I’m wearing Sugarpill Sinnocent false lashes cut in half (only on the outer side). I typically use Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara but sometimes I use tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Statement Mascara.

  8. Oh wow, I’m impressed that they didn’t budge under running water and resisted finger smudging as well! Great review!
