UD Naked Ultimate Basics Palette Review

Instinct, Tempted, and Commando all remind me of the Naked Basics 2 palette, which is  not my favorite. Those shades do me no favors. I wish Instinct was more pink-toned like Laced. I wish Tempted was a light grey or grey-taupe. I wish Commando was slightly more peach toned. Nudie was darker than I expected, I was hoping it would be like Walk of Shame. Lockout and Faith are very similar. I would have just picked Lockout because you can always mix a bit of Extra Bitter with Lockout to make Faith. And I really wish that Lethal was a deep burgundy (no brown tones).

I’m very happy with the eyeshadow formula in the Naked Ultimate Basics palette. They’re easy to work with and blend together. The palette works well if you think of the top row as mostly transitional shades (except Lethal) or light / easy makeup look colors. The bottom row is perfect for lining or spicing things up.

This palette has become a staple for me and I’ve been using it 3 times or more a week. If you have hooded eyes like me and prefer mattes on your hood, you may love this palette.

You can get the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette at Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom, Macys, and UrbanDecay.com.

  1. Cannot wait to try the Ultimate palette I picked up during last week’s Ulta sale – based on your recommendation … THANK YOU!!

  2. My first thoughts on this palette was ‘oh no, not more mid tone browns!’ -with three shades that would look the same on me. Like you, I wished there was another one or two grey shades – including a perfect grey taupe. Mushroom/Derailed are some of my favourite colours of all time. And the red tones just don’t suit me either.
However I am pleased to hear from your video, that you loved it and used it a lot.

  3. This isn’t my style but I think it’s really pretty. The two shades I like the most are Tempted and Lookout.

  4. I love all of your looks! It’s a great palette but I’m not sure I need it considering the amount of palettes I have, haha. Time will tell… 😉

  5. This palette looks really good! I’d totally be into it if I didn’t have these shades multiple times already 😛 I love the warm toned look you made. The red hair looks great on you!
