Urban Decay 15-Year Anniversary Eyeshadow Collection Swatches & Review

I recently got an email that the UD 15-year Anniversary Eyeshadow Collection was live on Urban Decay’s website. By the time I got home from work, it had already sold out, and I was a sad panda. Then, I saw a tweet from Christine at Temptalia that the palette was for sale at Ulta! So I retweeted it and snapped it up. Unfortunately it sold out nearly as quickly at Ulta as it did at on Urban Decay.com. Hopefully it will be available again soon from Urban Decay. I’ve got them all swatched here on Meow’s Light Primer.

Does it live up to its claims?
Heck yeah. I love the colors. I love Junkshow, as it’s an amazing bright pink and you can really see the fuchsia shift. Omen is an amazing, gorgeous purple shade. Blackout reminds me of Sugarpill’s Bulletproof. All the colors are really pretty and they’re nicely pigmented. I was happy with the amount of duochromes. I also love the mix of shades, since there were a lot of neutrals, a fair amount of purples, some blues and teals. The only color hue missing to me was a green. I didn’t experience any fallout with any of these shades, which surprised me.

Would I purchase again?
Yes. If I ever used up all of this palette, I’d want to snag another. I think it’s a great deal because at $55 for 15 shadows, it breaks down to about $3.67 per shadow. I actually really love the purple velvet box and I have it on top of my vanity. Much like with the the 15 year anniversary 24/7 pencil set, I’m pleased with my purchase.

What do you think of this palette? See any shades you like?

Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

  1. Gorgeous swatches. This makes me super excited to get mine. I happened to hit the UD website the other day when it was in stock, and it should arrive in the next day or two, yay.

  2. Wow! I love it! There are many many colours I love! I’d like to check it at some store! I wonder how much is that in Europe.
    Thanks for review&swatches!

  4. If anyone is interested it’s back in stock on Urban Decay’s website. It’s also available on Sephora’s website with free shipping! Hope this helps for anyone looking to swoop this up!

  5. It makes me sad that I won’t get my hands on this palette, just like the Naked palette. Sometimes it really sucks living in the arse end of the world.

    1. @Olgie ~ I would be more than happy to pick up a palette for you & ship it to wherever you are :0} I think it’s an absolute crime that if you live in a certain part of the world, you can’t get the beauty products that you want.

Oh Phyrra, your swatches are amazing, as usual. I am so getting this palette. They have them in stock in my local Sephora, and the ladies are so amazing there, they’re holding one for me.

      1. @Olgie I hope you’re able to get ahold of it 🙂

@Shayne glad you like the swatches!

    1. check the UD site…it’s back in stock. Also, Sephora has it online with free shipping. Good luck! 🙂

  6. I’m always disappointed w/ UD palettes, so I’m staying away for now, but just out of curiosity, can you tell us which shades have the infamous chunky disco-ball glitter that Urban Decay loves so much? I know that could be a deciding factor for a lot of people 🙂

    1. I only experienced fall out with Midnight Rodeo (which is a lovely neutral) and a little with Midnight 15. The rest of the shades don’t have the glitter going on, which makes me happy. I much prefer a pearly sheen, a duochrome, etc to huge chunks of glitter on the cheeks.

  7. Before I wanted this but now I feel I need this. Your swatches always make things so clear. Some of those neutrals are like nothing I own! x

    1. I think I like it because of the fact that there are only like 2 glittery shades, so no fall out.

  8. Just happened to check the website and the palette was in stock so I snagged it, even though I was waiting for it to come to Sephora or back to Ulta. Woohoo!

  9. Damnit, it’s sooo pretty I have to have it. I love the mix between neutrals and brights/others. Sephora better stock it soon!

  10. I really hope this comes out to Sephora soon so I can buy it here in Canada. I would love to experiment with those colors!

  11. OMG the colors are gorgeous , as usual from UD . If there’s a webshop that ships internationally and sells this palette , please let me know 😀 The shops where i buy from , don’t have the big palettes from UD only regular things. Mostly i buy such palettes from Ebay , but for this palettes the prices going crazy !!! Sometimes almost 90$ for this one without shipping 🙁

  12. Phyrra, you do some of the best swatching work I’ve ever seen. You should be a professional swatcher, if indeed there is such a profession. 😀 I managed to get my grubby little hands on this palette last week when Ulta restocked for a second time before selling out lightning-fast yet again! Your beautiful swatches make me appreciate my own palette even more. This really is such an outstanding selection of colors and finishes! I think UD completely outdid themselves on this one. No surprise that it’ll keep selling like hotcakes wherever it IS in stock. I normally don’t buy from Ulta but had to make an exception just this once because as of then it was my only hope of getting the palette. Thanks for your swatches, I always love looking at them!

    1. Thanks Christina! If only there was such a profession!

Yeah this is an amazing palette. I think I like it because there are only like 2 shades with glitter, there is a versatility in the shades offered, and they’ve got a nice finish.

  13. I woke up early and ordered it the day it premiered on the UD site – I got lucky!! The colors are beautiful and I also like the purple holding box and the palette box. I haven’t had a chance to do anything but swatch the colors and I can’t wait to play with them.

    1. This is my favorite of all the UD palettes I’ve purchased. It’s just got so much versatility going on.

  14. I want this palette sooo bad! I hope I’ll be able to get it here in Europe. My favorite shades by looking at the swatches are probably Omen, Junkshow, Flow, and Deep End.

  15. Ugh so pretty I want it!!! Evidence is gorgeous, can’t wait for the UK release.
I could travel with this palette and be set for any occasion.

  16. That is so much sexy. I didn’t get a chance to order it, so I am hoping beyond all hope that it’ll restock… after I get my student loans in… yes…

  17. I recently received this and love it. All the shades have a great texture. I do wish there was a green and a few more mattes. Half Truth is my favorite shade out off all the colors. With Omen being a close second. The neutrals are just nice to have. I hope to see some looks from you using the palette. 🙂 It would be nice inspiration.
