The Lush Tropics

When NARS had their 17% off sale, one of the items I snagged was their eye shadow in Tropic.  I decided it needed to be paired up with Illamasqua’s Bronx, another shade I recently acquired. This look really needed more of a transitional shade where Tropic meets Bronx. I think an iridescent gold would have worked nicely. Additionally, while Tropic is gorgeous in the pan, I feel like the silver particles translates a little strangely to my lid . Also, I was sad that this color pulls more green than blue on me. […]

Burnished Silver

This is more the look that I meant to do last week. I put Meow’s Psychic on my lid for a silvery white effect and Darling Girl’s Mr. Ed in the crease for a coppery peach. This was very simple to do. First I started with TFSI. Then I used a fluffy brush to apply Psychic to the lid. I used an angled crease brush to apply Mr. Ed to the crease. With a highlighter brush I applied Vapour to the browbone and then I used a small smudge brush to apply Vapour to the inner corners of the eye. I applied 24/7 pencil in Flipside to the lower water line and then finished the look with just Lash Blast Volume mascara. I used the Golden Blonde brow pencil to define my brows. […]

Healthy Glow

Today’s look didn’t turn out quite the way I wanted it to. Now I’ve got ideas on how to try this again. I was going for a white gold on the lid and mixed a few shades and it was still too much of a pale gold shade. I do love how Astral Ways worked as a cheek highlighter and on the browbone. I started with TFSI. Then I applied Indianwood to the lid. Next, I applied Apparition on the lid on top of Indianwood. I next used Frost on top of Apparition. Then I used Psychic on top of Frost, and then blended. I used Royal Pride in the crease and on the outer corner of the lid. I used Astral Rays on the browbone. I lined my upper lash line with Sabochan, then used Matte Black along the lower water line. I defined my brows with the Golden Blonde brow pencil and softened the lines with a stiff angled eye shadow brush. Last, I used my two favorite mascaras together. […]

Visiting Versailles

I absolutely adore Versailles. It’s gorgeous. And I think it looks gorgeous on the lid. I used TFSI as a base. Then I put Versailles on the lid and crease, except for the outermost corner of the lid and crease with a taklon lid brush. I took Damask and used an angled eye shadow brush to apply it to the lower lash line, extending the line up and out for a cat eye shape, then inward. I blended very, very softly with a fluffy blender brush. I took a small shader brush and applied All That Glitters to the upper crease and blended again. Finally, I applied Vapour to the browbone with a highlighter brush and a small detail brush for the inner corner of the eye. I used UD’s liquid liner in Perversion along the upper lash line. I used the 24/7 liners in Midnight Cowboy along the lower water line and Baked along the inner lash line. I used MUFE in Matte black along the outer lower lash line. I used my Revlon 104 pencil to define the eyebrows, then a stiff angled eye shadow brush to soften the brow color a bit. Then I topped my lashes off with my favorite mascara combo. […]

Today I participated in the Relay for Life Cancer walk with friends. I wanted to wear makeup that wouldn’t budge, and that was fairly simplistic. I applied TFSI, then took a concealer brush and applied MAC paint pot in Indianwood to the lid and crease, blending out the upper edge of color. I took the Estee Lauder shadowstick in Bronze and applied it to the outer v and lower crease. I then blended the Bronze into Indianwood. I took a fluffy highlighter brush and applied MAC Vapour to the browbone and then a smudge brush to apply it at the inner corner of my eyes. I used UD’s 24/7 pencil in Bourbon along the outer lower lash line. I applied Flirt! It Curls mascara and then Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume Waterproof Mascara. I finished up by defining my brows with Revlon’s 104 Dark Blonde brow pencil and took my stiff angled eyeshadow brush to blend it out. Too be honest, I absolutely love this look. I loved how the colors blended together and how my lid turned out. Indianwood is a nice color, especially with Bronze. […]

Baked Vanilla Nudes Look

I couldn’t wait to try out the Laura Geller Baked Vanilla Nudes set. I really love Vanilla Toffee, as it’s one of those awesome shades that looks like you’re wearing 3 colors at once. I put it on my lid and crease and it gave me a very multi-dimensional look with a deeper copper-bronze, a mid-tone of caramel and a highlight of vanilla. Speaking of Vanilla, the French Vanilla highlighter is too dark for me to use as a highlight on the browbone, but the Porcelain foundation works perfectly right under the brows. You can, however, see that I initially used French Vanilla on the browbone and it was too yellow/dark.   […]

Reader Request – Bronze Look

This look is from a Reader Request. One of my lovely readers asked for a look for a wedding that would go with a maroon dress, so this is the eye look I came up with. I absolutely love Half-Baked and really should use it more often. Every time I wear the color I feel like it looks elegant. I used SMH’s Dominatrix with it, which is a brownish-burgundy shade with shimmer, to deepen the outer v and crease. […]
