The Website Says
RESIST Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 is a daytime moisturizer with sunscreen designed for combination to oily skin with signs of aging. Its multi-purpose formula not only protects skin from sun damage, but also fortifies it with potent antioxidants to repair and stimulate collagen production for firmer skin. You will see a more even skin color, fewer visible lines and wrinkles, and the return of a younger healthy-looking glow. This gentle, mineral-based formula has a sheer tint that works beautifully for all skin tones, whether worn alone or under foundation. An amazingly silky lotion texture leaves a soft matte finish that perfectly preps skin, allowing makeup to apply smoothly and evenly (no primer needed). Pure, refined zinc oxide provides remarkable broad-spectrum protection without making skin more oily or triggering breakouts. It is perfect for sensitive skin or rosacea and great for use around the eye area. Daily sun protection is crucial for preventing wrinkles and brown spots, while still allowing skin to look fresh, even, and healthy.

First, I love the packaging. Like all Paula’s Choice packaging, it comes in a useful container rather than a jar you have to dip your fingers into (ew). The packaging is dark so that it keeps the products’ ingredients stable. It’s also easy to get every last bit of product out of this sort of tube, which I appreciate. It makes me feel like I’m getting my money’s worth.

Second, I feel like you’re getting a good amount of product for the price. You should never skimp on moisturizer with SPF and I feel like sometimes people do this. Thankfully Paula’s Choice makes very affordable moisturizers with SPF so you never feel like you need to use is sparingly.

Third, if you have sensitive, combination skin (which I do), this stuff is awesome. It dries to a matte finish that works great as a base for makeup. It feels wonderful on your skin. It doesn’t migrate into your eyes.

My only complaint with this product is that the tint is too dark for me. If you wear MAC NW15 or deeper, I think it will be fine, but if you’ve got a porcelain skintone, it will be a touch too dark. Now, you can correct over this with foundation, but the problem is that if you apply it the way I do (to face, neck, decolette and hands), you’ll see the tint. So unless you plan on applying your foundation all over, you’ll end up having a slight tint. The other way to apply it is to just apply it to your face and use a different moisturizer on your neck, decolette, etc. This is what I’ve been doing because I really like how this wears.

I really wish this formula was available in either a paler tint, or no tint at all. I can’t get over how amazing the matte finish feels, as it’s matte without feeling dry or tight. I really love how it works as a primer for makeup.

I would recommend this moisturizer with SPF to everyone but the palest of skintones. It’s got great ingredients, it feels great on the skin, and if you’re sensitive or combo you’ll love this.

What’s your favorite Paula’s Choice product?

  1. I think this one’s going to be in my next PC order. Thanks for the heads up, Phyrra. 🙂

  2. I was so excited about this until you mentioned the tint. I am pale enough that tint is a deal-breaker for me 🙁

  3. I keep hearing great things about Paula’s Choice but I’ve tried several products and was only satisfied with one (2% BHA) At least one actually caused mild irritation (probably because she seems to use propylene glycol a lot). Maybe it just isn’t the right brand for DRY and sensitive skin. :

  4. I haven’t tried this product yet, but Paula’s Choice is my go-to for skin care. Once I run out of my current moisturizer, I’ll have to get this one! I love when products dry to a matte finish.
