Pantone 2016 Rose Quartz and Serenity Beauty

Pantone 2016 Rose Quartz and Serenity Beauty

Today I’m sharing Pantone 2016 Rose Quartz and Serenity beauty products with you. I’m sure by now you’ve heard that Pantone picked these two pastels for their colors. These aren’t colors that I wear a lot as main shades, but I love to use them for accents.

This post contains a mix of press samples and products purchased by me.

Urban Decay Eyeshadows

Urban Decay Aura pink

Urban Decay Heartless pink
Heartless – pale pink

1. Urban Decay Eyeshadows
Urban Decay has Aura, the blue / pink split, and Heartless, a pale pink. Heartless would make a great lid shade, while Aura works well as an inner corner highlight, under the brow highlight, or to layer on top of other colors. Aura is an UrbanDecay.com exclusive.

Makeup Geek Duochrome Eyeshadows

Makeup Geek Kaleidoscope Serenity
Kaleidoscope – blue
Makeup Geek Mood Ring Rose Quartz
Mood Ring – pink

2. Makeup Geek Duochrome Pigments
The Makeup Geek Duochrome pigments in Kaleidoscope and Mood Ring are PERFECT for these pantone colors.
Kaleidoscope has a slate blue base with pink, purple, and teal reflects. Mood Ring has a pale gray base with purple-pink reflects. This is the way that I can wear these Pantone shades the best – layered on top of a darker color.

Darling Girl Snowboarding Cutie

Darling Girl Snowboarding Cutie Serenity Blue
Snowboarding Cutie – pale blue

3. Darling Girl Snowboarding Cutie
This is a pale icy blue with pink sheen, purple iridescence and blue sparkles. I love this for an inner lid shade, a layering color, or highlighting the eye. It would also be great to layer on top of a darker lipstick shade.

Sugarpill Birthday Girl

Birthday Girl – pink

4. Sugarpill Birthday Girl
This is a princess pink with fuchsia sparks. This is perfect for a lid color or possibly a blush.

10. Too Faced La Creme Lipsticks in Unicorn Tears and Clueless
Unicorn Tears is a lavender with blue shift and Clueless is an iridescent pink. Both of these are perfect for layering on top of deepr shades.  These are on my lust list.

  1. I love a great pink eye shadow and this UD heartless shade is something I’d wear for sure. I hadn’t seen these new Too Faced lipsticks yet. The pink shade is gorgeous! Overall, I like these shades for make-up but love them for interior accent pieces. 🙂

  2. I have to say that I am in LOVE with the colors of the year… and you rock them so hard heh. The Urban Decay eyeshadows may have to be my favorites for repping these shades.

  3. I like the colors for 2016. I think the Pantone colors are better for clothing. The blue might not be dark enough for eye make up?

  4. I’m not a huge pastels fan myself, but love the selections you’ve shown! Especially love the OCC+Fairy Girl lip combo you’re wearing – headed to look at those! xo

  5. Like a lot of people – I am not a fan of pastels, though I do love the icy blue as an accent. Pink is just not for me at all. I loved the stronger colours of emerald and marsala. It’s interesting that Pantone have chosen two colours, but I guess these baby hues complement each other.
I really loved that Sugar Pill Birthday Girl quad – now that has completely divine colours. I must have a look around for that quad. I can see myself wearing these kinds of blues and browns.
Thank you for showing us these colours and how to wear them. A great post Phyrra.

  6. I’m not the biggest fan of pastel blues, though I like pinks. I think you came up with some great choices for both, and I appreciate your tips on how to wear them. I have Aura, Snowboarding Cutie, Luna, and Unicorn Tears, and I thought I’d pull out Nyx Macaron lippies in Earl Gray and Rose. Nails are always a good option for colors I don’t like on my face, too.

  7. Not a fan of the color choices this year. All I see is baby shower colors. LOL. However, I do like your product choices and suggestion to use them as accent colors. If nothing else, I don’t have a problem painting my nails a light pink. 🙂

    1. I can totally see why you think baby shower colors! Pastels are hard for me, they just don’t look good with my pale skin + dark hair + blue-green eyes, so I don’t feel like i can wear them all over.

  8. Hmmm. Not gonna lie, these colours aren’t for me. I liked Marsala better as a colour of the year 🙂 Am I the only one wondering where they base these on? Haha. The Urban Decay eyeshadows and that Fairy Girl lipstick are pretty though!

      1. I’m with you on that one; pastels just wash me out. But you’ve got some great picks–love that Youngblood Vintage quad!
