Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics RTW in Rime Review and Swatches

Happy Teal Thursday! Today I’m sharing Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics RTW in Rime. I bought this from Beautylish and they shipped super fast! I was impressed with the packaging, too. Everything was padded nicely and the box was sturdy. Rime, like all OCC Makeup products, is cruelty free and vegan.

Rime is a beautiful pale turquoise blue with gold shimmer. In my swatches above, the swatch on the right has been blotted lightly with a tissue, as I find this brings out the shimmer when worn.

In the pictures above, I used Colour Pop Petit Four (deep blue-grey) pencil to line and fill in my lips, then I applied OCC RTW in Rime. Finally, I blotted lightly to bring out the gold. Because of the deep blue-grey base, it really brought out the gold and green in Rime, making it a great match to my eyeshadow (Makeup Geek Typhoon).

The formula is perfect, in my opinion. The shimmery RTWs seem to perform better on me than the cremes. They’re less likely to feather or fade. As you may or may not be able to tell in my hand swatch, the color stayed where I placed it. However, I always recommend using a lip pencil with the RTWs (and blot too!) to help them to last longer. If you’re not a fan of pairing this with deep grey, Pool Boy (bright, light blue), or Sebastian (taupe) might be good options. I still find myself pining for a Technopagan pencil.

My current favorite RTWs, in addition to Rime, are Hollywood, Technopagan, RoboHoochie, Synth and Black Metal Dahlia.

What do you think of Rime? How would you wear it?

  1. I love that lip tar and it really looks stunning on you. I’m going to have to add it to my makeup stash!

  2. Very cool shade. I love the gold hue in it and reminds me of some eye shadows I have. I don’t use OCC very often but I love the new packaging.

  3. Wow, what a great shade! You wear it so well. Darn the peppermint oil is the third ingredient in the RTW lineup!

  4. That’s so pretty. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a lip color that color with that finish before.

      1. Agree! I have Mosh, Derelict, and Disintegration from the last collection, and they’re so pretty. I’ll to snag Rime next, and Wasabi.
