Notoriously Morbid Your Total is $6.66 Look

Hello everyone!
Let me begin by telling you how honored I am to be sharing a look on the blog of the lovely Phyrra while she is recovering! Shortly about me: I am Mariam, aka Longlivemakeup; 32; indie makeup fan; colours..not neutrals for me, thank you very much; science, and in particular molecular biology, is my passion and occupation; currently residing in the Netherlands. I hope you will enjoy the look I have prepared for you. And be warned: I ramble!!!

A few days ago, I had this splendid idea of marrying two of my favorite Notoriously Morbid (NM) eyeshadows in a look, namely Your Total is $6.66 and Enticing Elba. Now there is good news, and there is bad news. While Your Total Is $6.66 is present in the permanent line of NM shadows, Enticing Elba is actually a part of the latest Vanishing Cabinet (VC)…but don’t fret! Often, there is overstock of VC shades, so possibly you will be able to find both of these pretties, should you want to have them in your stash.

Your Total is $6.66 and I go way back to when I made my very first order from NM last year. It was also my first love and, you know, one doesn’t forget their first love ;)! This eyeshadow is a gorgeous dollar-bill green loaded with copper sparkle. I adore it! I always feel so happy when I splash it on my eyeballs!

Enticing Elba was our sneak peek last month. So, each month when we get the VC, we also receive a sample baggie with a shadow that will be included in the next month’s VC edition. I fell in love with Enticing Elba instantaneously: it is a fabulous cornflower blue with…a strong copper sheen/duochrome. Absolutely beautiful! By the way, the shadow is named after Idris Elba, since this month’s theme was “All The Men I Can’t Have: British Edition”… awesome right?!?!? Yummy eyeshadow for a yummy man! That came out really sexist, eeeps!

What I used:

  • Hema eyeshadow base
  • Makeup Geek eyeshadows in: Frappe and Beaches&Cream (in the crease to blend out)
  • Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy (sticky base)
  • Notoriously Morbid eyeshadows in Stripper Zombie (tear duct area), Your Total is $6.66 (inner half of the lid and lower lash line), Enticing Elba (outer part of the lid), Black Cat Crossing (lower lash line and waterline)
  • Essence pencil in Have a Green (roots of the lashes and waterline)
  • Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara (waterproof)
  • Anastasia BH Dip Bow Pomade in Ebony

To be honest with you, I kind of did this look on-the-go so, afterwards, it did occur to me that perhaps I should have used Enticing Elba in the inner half of the lid, and Your Total is $6.66 on the outer half. That would have tied all the greens together… I did like this version, nonetheless!

I decided to pair the eye look with some warm shades on my cheeks and lips. My Makeup Geek blush in Bliss is probably my favorite blush of all time, so it made the look all the more exciting to put together (If you haven’t tried MUG blushes yet, what are you waiting for?!). On my lips, I used a coral lipstick from Essence and topped it with my favorite lipgloss, technically called lipcraft, from NM called Pale of Sanity. Pale of Sanity is a beautiful orange shade with a gold-green duochrome.

P.S. Excuse my hair and its determination to be in my face whenever it gets the chance!!!

Ok, I think I have rambled more than enough now. Thank you once again, dear Phyrra!

See you soon!

  1. I love that pretty blue and green eye look. I am going to recreate this myself. I don’t have the shadows you used, but I am going to try it with my Wet N Wild Vegan Culture palette. That’s a really pretty lip color on you. I love Essence cosmetics.
Courtney – get well soon and I hope your recovery is speedy and painless. Sending you warm hugs and lots of positive energy.
