Happy Monday everyone! It’s time for another Makeup Wars! This time we’re talking about our favorite cream shadows, so I chose shadow pencils! I’ve got a lot of different types of shadow pencils, but (pictured above with some of my tokidoki unicornos) these are my favorites. I’ve got Urban Decay, Laura Mercier and Milani.

Urban Decay and Milani are all cruelty-free.
Please note, Laura Mercier is not cruelty free. Unfortunately I did not find this out until after reviewing several products.

Shade Descriptions
Sand Glow – taupe with golden shimmer (dirty tarnished golden taupe to me)
Rose Gold – dirty pink with golden shimmer (peachy gold to me)
Orchid – lavender shimmer (soft lavender)
Smoke – smoky charcoal with silver pearl (rich, charcoal grey with silver glimmers)
Mint Snow – aqua (light aqua pearl)
Clash – bright turquoise with silver sparkle (rich, bright turquoise with silver sparkles)
Delinquent – dark purple with bright purple sparkle (rich, deep purple with purple sparkles)
Noise – bright pink with micro silver sparkle (bright pink with red undertones and silver sparkles)
Lit – golden bronze (bright gold with bronze undertones)
Green Safari – green pearl (lush green pearl)

I love these colors. With my oily lids, I still use an eyeshadow primer with them, but they can be worn on their own or with eyeshadow on top. They make great bases to really help colors pop. It’s super easy to do a simple smoky eye with Smoke, or blend in Sand Glow for a gold to black.

  2. Haven’t tried the Laura Mercier, but the UD ones are pretty flawless! And I was also super impressed with the quality on the Milani ones as well, such a steal! But I’m nearly always loyal to UD 😉 What do you think of the Laura mercier silk cream foundation? I keep hearing such amazing things about it that I want to try it badly, but I also don’t want it to be a waste of my money cause I’m super picky with my foundation! HELP! Lol

  7. MINT SNOW!!!  Beauts!  I’m so attracted to mint shadows, even though I feel like I lack the skillz to make them work for me, lol!  Maybe I should just buy one and try it.  It’s on my “Slightly Skerred” list, along with applying false lashes (attempts have been hilariously bad).

    Just started using eye pencils in my makeup routine.  😉   I purchased the Rimmel ScandalEyez eyeshadow pencils (the teal blue one).  So happy I bought it!

  20. You’ve totally sold me on the LM.  I’m headed to the mall tomorrow and I’m definitely picking a couple up.  Headed for the rose gold, antique and mint for sure!
