Makeup Geek Hot Pants Look

I was asked to share my Makeup Geek Hot Pants look from my recent video with you. This look uses shades from the new Makeup Geek Spring 2016 release, plus the new eyeshadow pencils. I’ve been testing all of them out.

For  my lips I wanted to see if Urban Decay Venom would be the same hue as Too Faced Pitch Perfect if I blotted it down. It was too plum, so I blotted most of it off and layered Pitch Perfect on top. Then I added Unicorn Tears at the center. The result was a very pretty lip shade that I love.

For this eyeshadow look I used the UD Anti-Aging eyeshadow primer for the lid and Smashbox Illuminating Under Eye Primer for the lower lid. I applied a light layer of Urban Decay Walk of Shame as a base shade on the hood and browbone. I used Makeup Geek Fashion Addict in the smoky dome shape on the lid and hood. I applied Makeup Geek Plumeria liner to the lower lid, then smudged Fashion Addict on top of it at the lower lid. Fashion Addict kept blending out and getting patchy on my hood, so I had to creatively blend and add more back. I ended up having success by blending it out with Makeup Geek Confection. Then I layered Hot Pants on top of the lid, inner v and lower lid. Hot Pants is a beautiful color and it looks great. I highlighted at the inner corner and under the eyebrows with Phantom. I added a bit of Urban Decay Solstice to the inner lid to add more sparkle.

I lined the lower waterline with Obsidian, which is really creamy, then used the goss 8 brush to smudge Obsidian through the roots of the upper lashes and outer lower lashes. Obsidian didn’t want to stay on my lower waterline. Plumeria is an amazing color, but it didn’t seem to apply evenly to the lower lid, but I was able to fix that by smudging Fashion Addict on top.

I absolutely love Aromaleigh Ishtar blush. It’s so gorgeous. It’s a vivid berry pink blush with teal blue iridescence. I think it’s flattering, especially with my hair color. I’m so glad that I touched it up on Friday. I definitely feel like the eyeshadows, lipsticks, blush and my hair are all coordinating pinks.

What do you think of the pink look? How would you use Hot Pants?

  1. Gorgeous look, pink eyeshadow can be hard to pull off but you’ve done a lovely job!

  2. I need my own personal Phyrra to recommend me makeup looks and well.. just do my makeup every morning :’) Your makeup is beautiful and perfect- just like you. You rock the pink.. maybe even more than the purple.

  3. These Makeup Geek colors are gorgeous on you! Anytime I try similar colors I just end up looking like I have severe allergy eyes, lol…

    1. Thank you! The trick with pinks like that, for me, is to not get it too close to the inner eye, or I look like a zombie. Having the blue reflect and then iridescent purple highlight helps with pinks like that.
