Literary Lacquers 2014 Community CollectionI do love the new, updated logo that Literary Lacquers has with the stylized book open above the name. Very cool!

Porco Rosso

Porco Rosso – Designed by Schette of Schette EssaisBeauté – Inspired by Porco Rosso, a deep red linear holo with taupe and gold flakies

This looks like an orange-red to me. While I’m not an orange fan, I can appreciate how gorgeous the flakies make this polish. It actually makes me think of pumpkin and fall.

The Ruby Thief

The Ruby Thief – Designed by Jenne of Polished Pathology – Inspired by Dinosaurs in the Attic , a ruby pink glass fleck shimmer

I don’t normally wear pinky-reds. The glass flecks in this one are nice.

Literary Lacquers Catherine
Catherine

Catherine is a brown-based burgundy with a strong linear holo that has a very prominent violet/purple holo arc, a subtle golden flash and micro-flakes!

I’m not a fan of brown-based burgundy but if you are, you may like this one for the unique violet purple holo. This is part of a gloss48 exclusive duo.

Effie’s Trinket – Designed by Heather of Drowning In Polish – Inspired by The Hunger Games, a bright pinky-purple linear holo with pink shimmer

To me this is more of a soft pinky-purple. It’s pretty. I love the linear holo effect.

Lurid Fog – Designed by Jen of xoxo, Jen – A slate grey linear holo with a strong purple shimmer from two different sized pigments. The polish represents the choking fog that plagued London in the 19th century which was coal smoke mixed with mist. The New Grub Street by George Gissing.

This is a really cool color. Another one of my favorites. I love the purple shimmer on the grey.

Literary Lacquers Grasshopper with Cotton Candy Hair

Catherine and Heathcliff are part of a gloss48 exclusive duo. You can get more Literary Lacquer polishes at gloss48. I think Heathcliff is very pretty.

I really like that this collection had lots of flakies and even a glass fleck. I’d be curious to see if you could mix glass fleck with different finishes.

Lurid Fog, Grasshopper with the Cotton Candy Hair and I Heard the Bells are my absolute favorites out of these two collections. They are unique in my nail polish collection.

If you can only have one polish, I urge you to check out Grasshopper with the Cotton Candy Hair. It’s the prettiest green I’ve seen in a very long time.

What do you think of these polishes?
