A Girl’s Gotta Spa! Cruelty Free and Vegan Body Products

A Girl's Gotta Spa Cruelty Free Vegan Body Products

You may remember that back in November I interviewed my friend Shannon from A Girl’s Gotta Spa! She started her own company and created cruelty free and vegan body products. I wanted to talk to you about her spa line. Her line will start shipping out pre-orders on March 11, 2014.

Aqua (Water), Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sodium Olefin Sulfanate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Olenate, Sodium Chloride (Sea Salt), Phenoxyethanol Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Vegetable Glycerin, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Oil, Citrus Paradisii (Pink Grapefruit) Oil, Citrus Sinesis (Orange) Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Asnthemis Nobilis (Organic Chamomile) Extract, Calendula Officinalis (Organic Calendula) Extract, Symphytum Officinale (Organic Comfrey) Extract, Ascophyllum Nodosum (Organic Kelp) Extract, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C).

The Energizing Citrus Body Lotion is a natural, light, sheer lotion which absorbs easily to help restore your skin’s natural moisture balance. It’s blended with olive oil, African shea butter and unprocessed natural cocoa butter, which soothes, hydrates and helps to improve skin elasticity. Powerful essential oils treat the skin and enlighten the senses. Our gentle, moisturizing lotion provides soothing, hydrating relief and leaves your dry skin looking and feeling soft and healthy.

Ingredients
Purified water, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Vegetable-based Emulsifying Wax (Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60), Citrus Paradisii (Pink Grapefruit) Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Sinensis (Orange) Oil.

Both products are sulfate free, formaldehyde free, paraben free, cruelty free and vegan. Both products are made with between 94% and 98% natural ingredients. Because these are natural, they have a shelf life of 6 months from when they are opened. They should be stored in a dark, cool place and not exposed to sun or heat.

The scents for these products come from 100% pure essential oils.

Because these products are citrus based, Shannon recommends that you used broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen after use. Citrus based products can cause photosensitivity (like with Vitamin C serums).

These products are made in Pennsylvania in the USA.

While these products are definitely more expensive than my go to Bath & Body Works shower gel, I really love the fact that they’re cruelty free and vegan, have high quality ingredients, and are made by a fellow blogger.  I am really happy to see that she chose to create products that are cruelty free and vegan (just like Jen from My Beauty Bunny, Nicki from FutureDerm, and I chose to do), so that they could be used by everyone and be animal friendly.

What do you think of spa lines like this? Are you a fan of citrus scents?
