Cover FX Custom Cover Drops Tutorial

Cover FX Custom Cover Drops Tutorial

Hi! I made another Cover FX Custom Cover Drops tutorial to share with you. I’m showing it mixed with even more products. You can also check out my first DIY your foundation, too. I use Custom Cover Drops N10. I haven’t retouched these photos, so you can see all the flaws in my skin. I also apparently had my lights angled incorrectly and didn’t notice because everything still seems OMG BRIGHT! For the video I first applied each foundation with my finger tips, then I went back with a damp makeup sponge to finish it off.

For this one I did my chin first, mixing with the Blemish Treatment Primer and CCD. Then I did the rest of my face with Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentrate.

My finished look from an upcoming tutorial wearing the Embryolisse and Blemish Treatment Primer with Custom Cover Drops.

Like I say in the video, Custom Cover Drops are not meant to be worn on their own. You need to mix them with a product. You can mix them with a skincare item such as a sunscreen, a serum or a moisturizer. You can mix them with a foundation, sheer or thick. Basically they should with any water-based, silicone-based or oil-based products.

Have you tried Cover FX Custom Cover Drops yet?

  1. I’m curious about this product, and of course I love Cover FX. Do you know if it’s similar to the Ardency Inn Foundation? I know that is also concentrated and meant to be mixed with a moisturizer.

  2. Cover FX has become my #1 for skin makeup. When I got the email for the Custom Cover Drops I literally clicked the link and was ready to purchase immediately…but the N0 (N Zero) shade was not available. </3

I think you might be able to answer the question that has me waffling over whether to buy the Custom Cover Drops or not…

    – The Total Coverage Cream Foundation in N0 (N Zero) matches my skin PERFECTLY. HOLY GRAIL.

    – The Natural Finish Oil Free Foundation in N10 (the lightest neutral shade available) is a touch too dark. N10 also looks a bit dull on me in comparison to N0.

I wrote Cover FX to ask if they planned to add N0 (N Zero) to the Custom Cover Drops range. They wrote back and said there were no plans to add N0 at this time. They also said the N10 shade should work for me in the Custom Cover Drops. I'm just not sure…

Do you think the Custom Cover Drops in N10 would work for me?

This post is amazing! I especially love the Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentrate/Custom Cover Drops with the Cover FX Blemish Treatment Primer/Custom Cover Drops drops on the chin. I love how the drops can be used with different products on different areas of the face at the same time while looking completely seamless. Different areas of my face have different needs so I love this idea! It looks BEAUTIFUL on you! I also love the idea of adding a luminous product like NARS Copacabana into the mix! Super pretty! 😀 The Custom Cover Drops have such INCREDIBLY versatility!

Many thanks for this post! I love all the different ideas and tips so much! <3

    1. Doh! I have shade N10, but if you need lighter you can always pick up Life’s Entropy White Elixir to make it lighter.

      1. Ooooooo! Great tip. I don’t have Life’s Entropy White Elixir but I will definitely check it out (I’m always trying to make skin things lighter, lol). It looks like my Sephora just got the Cover FX drops too – I can’t wait to see what they feel like / look like in person! *all excited* XD Thanks so much!

  3. I really love the final look on you – you look fabulous and gorgeous as usual. 🙂 I am impressed by this product, though I don’t use it… I think the concept overall is interesting. Custom Coverage is always a challenge for anyone…so I think it’s deifnitely a must try for many.

  4. I need to try this. I’ve heard good things about custom coverage foundation (such as the one from Ardency Inn) but I’ve wondered how it would really look. Thanks for the detailed post!

  5. This is on my must-try list! I’ve been hearing/reading great things lately!

  6. My Sephora order just came with P30 (that was the lightest available) and Supergoop so I know what I’m trying this weekend.

  7. Thanks for showing this mixed with so many products. Being in my 40s and with hormones all over the place, I find myself switching up foundations and products more than I used to, especially these last couple years. I used to have such oily skin, and I’m so pale, all I could wear was BareEscentuals Original powder foundation in Fair with mineral veil under and over it (before the days of primer). Now, I’m not as oily, but my skin will be anywhere from combination, combination with slightly dry cheeks, to acne and cystic acne, to oily, and recently it’s been really oily again to the point I have to wear primer under everything or it all oxidizes. I have been considering these drops, and now I think I’m ready to take the plunge. They really do look as though they work with everything.

      1. I have the Total Cover Cream Foundation in P40 and love it! I do want to go to MAC and get matched too since they are the hallmark of matching. But, I feel perfectly matched with my CoverFX!

  8. I like the look best with the Cover Drops mixed with Blemish Treatment Primer and Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentrate in your last pic. The others either weren’t enough coverage so it looked like you had nothing on or too much. The last one looked the most natural, like you, only better.

    1. It’s definitely my favorite of this set! The tarte was SUPER THICK and full coverage. I know many people have asked what my rec is for full coverage and it’s got to be that combo. It covers everything!

  9. I’m totally ordering some when hubs gets paid next week! I’d love to mix this with my favorite moisturizer!!

  10. This helps a lot. I was looking into buying because I heard good things about the Cover fx drops, but wasn’t sure what to do with them (if that makes sense?) but I like the 1st and 5th look (1st for more natural and 5th for more coverage) so I’ll grab the items you used with it as well! Thanks!

    1. Yep! I know it’s a little strange, but I love that I can mix it with products that work well for me, like the Embryolisse, to create a comfortable foundation.
