The Best Lip Pencils

The Best Lip Pencils

Today I’m sharing my picks for the best lip pencils. There are so many out there – from drugstore to high end, but these are the best that I’ve tried. They’re the ones I reach for the most.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Colour Pencil Swatches

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Colour Pencils
Available in 14 shades ($16), all vegan. These are my top pick because they’re multi-purpose – they can be used on the eyes, cheeks and lips (Anime, Black Dahlia, Grandma, Hoochie, NSFW, & Trick are not recommended for use in the immediate eye area). They’re awesome on the lips because they’re pigmented, easy to apply, easy to use for lip art or as lip liner. They can be worn on their own or paired with gloss or a lipstick. I wish they would make a true purple, as well as a navy pencil, and I’d probably go crazy over a Technopagan one. (See my original review)

Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Pencil Swatches
Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Pencils
Available in 22 shades ($20), these are the vegan ones – Venom, Jilted, Anarchy, Manic, 69, Catfight, Bang, Streak, Turn On, Obsessed, Native, Liar, Naked, Deep, Naked2 & Ozone. These are also very comfortable to wear, long wearing, and they don’t dry out my lips. (See my original review and the new shades)

The Urban Decay Multi-purpose Ultimate Ozone pencil ($16) does not say it is vegan.

Colour Pop Lippie Pencil Swatches

Colour Pop Lippie Pencils
Available in 53 shades and counting, they’re all vegan (as of 7/28/2015). Since they’re only $5 each, they’re definitely easy on the wallet and my pick for the budget friendly option. I do wish one of the purples was a dupe for my MAC Grape (purchased when MAC was still cruelty free). (See my original review)

What are your picks for the best lip pencils?

  1. I never think to pick up lip pencils, but the these are some great looking options.

  2. Great collection. If I ever get around to ordering Colour Pop I’ll have to remember these pencils.

  3. I’m glad that your news on your mole is good! 😀 I kind of pretty much want all of these pencils… Oy.

  4. Yay! I’m glad you got good news back about the mole.

All three of these brands are really good. I really like bhcosmetics Waterproof Lip Liner pencils. They are my favorite budget brand. I think they’re as good as UD’s. They have 15 colors currently, and are $6, though I’ve gotten them as low as $3. They go on sale often. Nyx Slim Line Pencils are pretty decent, but I don’t think they’re as great as people say. I find the formula a little stiff, but they come in a ton of colors (more than 40) and are inexpensive.

    1. I haven’t tried the BH but I’ll ad it to my list. The Nyx were almost on my list but I just never reach for my Nyx anymore because of the OCC and UD and Colour Pop.

  5. I agree – the UD lip liners are awesome sauce (although I don’t own any, but I’ve swatched them in-store, and they go on creamy!). 🙂

  6. Even though I have a ton of UD eye liner pencils, I haven’t really tried the lipliners, other than Ozone. Some day I must, but you sure piqued my interest in the OCC lipliners!

  7. I love Urban Decay pencils. I also have a couple from IT Cosmetics that I really like. Great staying power 😉
