Does it live up to its claims?
Sort of. It does start out white and changes to a light skin tone. It ends up looking dark and sort of orange under my eyes on its own. I can cover it up with foundation but that still leaves me looking a bit dark. It doesn’t crease or settle into fine lines on me. It feels heavier than some of the concealers that I’ve tried. I’ve tried it a few different ways, but while I like that it doesn’t settle into fine lines I really hate the color. Most of that ‘smart shade’ technology never works for me.

Would I purchase again?
No. I didn’t really care for this concealer and turning orange on me is just not nice. This didn’t really work for me and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Product purchased by me. All opinions are my own.

  1. i hate dimethicones. They break me out. Sux!! With cystic acne. And, I hate things that go orange on me.

  2. Ugh, finding concealers that are the right color, pigmentation, and don’t settle into lines is one of my least favorite parts of being a makeup junkie. I found one that works pretty well for me and I’m afraid to stray from it only to get burned again.

    1. It is soo hard to find a good concealer! Most things really do want to settle in.

  3. Oh boo, I can see the orangey shade under your eyes there. That stinks. I had been wondering about this kind of a product, even though I don’t really “do” liquid concealers or foundations. Thanks for reviewing.

  4. Anything that claims to be anti-aging gets a side-eye from me, honestly. The one smart shade product that really worked well on me was this Josie Maran foundation. My mother’s a lot lighter than me, and I tried hers on, and it seemed to match both of us perfectly. She wound up returning it, though, ’cause she started breaking out.

    1. I think it’s claiming anti-aging because of the SPF. Marketing speak! Sometimes it’s so strange.

  5. They never work for me either. Years ago, I tried a “smart shade” Avon product that not only turned a horrible shade of orange, but it balled up while I was trying to apply it. I gave it to my mother, who has a more tan complexion than me.
