When I was looking at the Naked Basics and Naked 2 Basics palette, I pondered the question, which palette is best for me between the Urban Decay Naked Basics vs. Naked 2 Basics vs. Pulp Fiction? So I created a video to look at and compare all 3 palettes. Can you guess which palette comes out on top?

Pulp Fiction is more expensive at $34 for 4 eyeshadows (one is split into 2 shades, making 5), but you’re getting .06 oz x 4. (total .24 oz)
Naked Basics and Naked 2 Basics are $29 each for 6 eyeshadows, each shade is .05 oz. (total .30 oz)
You end up getting more product for the price with the Naked Basics and Naked 2 Basics.
Number of Shadows
Pulp Fiction has 5 distinctly different shades.
Naked Basics and Naked 2 Basics both have 6, but some shades are quite similar.
You end up getting more variety with the Pulp Fiction palette.
I like Venus, though I also really like Furious. Skimp is darker than what I prefer for a highlighter shade. It blends into my skintone.
I’m declaring both Venus and Furious as winners here.
Base or Lid Shades
I’m not a fan of Foxy, too yellow on me.
I love Walk of Shame nd I’ve even hit pan on it. It’s a pale peachy pink matte.
I really like Righteous! It’s an awesome light peach beige.
Stark is sort of a peachy brown matte, not my favorite between these shades.
Walk of Shame has been a favorite of mine for 2 years. Righteous is a new favorite.
WoS and Righteous come out on top in this set.
ALL THE TAUPES!
Naked 2 is a light milky brown taupe.
Frisk is a light grey brown taupe.
Cover is a reddish brown taupe.
Primal is a deeper brown taupe.
I’m not a fan of any of these shades. I prefer my taupes very grey-toned.
Pulp Fiction comes out ahead of Naked Basics and Naked 2 Basics in this category.
Darkness and Depth
Faint is a deep brown with a hint of taupe to it. It’s ok.
Crave is a dark blackened brown. LOVE THIS!
Undone is a smoky deep taupe. I really like it.
Tyranny is a warm caramel brown. This is surprisingly flattering on me.
Vengeance is a dark brown. I like this shade.
Anger is a black. This is useful.
While I love Crave and Undone, I actually find all 3 of the deeper shades from the Pulp Fiction palette to be useful for me.
Pulp Fiction is first here while Naked Basics is a close second.
My upcoming Naked 2 Basics palette tutorial.
Between the three palettes it’s easy for me to eliminate the Naked 2 Basics from the running because I don’t feel like I’ll get a lot of use out of Frisk, Cover and Primal. While I really like Undone, it doesn’t outweigh those 3 shades. Skimp is ok, but not really as a highlighter on my skintone. Stark is ok.
I primarily use Crave, Walk of Shame and Venus from the Naked Basics Palette. I’ve never figured out a use for Foxy. I’ve rarely used Naked 2 and Faint.
