As you know, tarte has several products that are powered by Amazonian Clay. Tarte says that Amazonian Clay has special properties that make it ideal for use in makeup. If you have oily or combination skin, tarte says that this clay will help to minimize and control oil, so the makeup doesn’t slide around on your face. If you have dry skin, tarte claims that the clay will help to add moisture back into the skin.
Probably the most popular Amazonian Clay product is the Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush. It has Vitamins A and E, which act as anti-inflammatory ingredients. Vitamins E and C both work as anti-oxidants, while Vitamin C also brightens the skin. It comes in 17 different shades, so there’s one to suit everyone’s taste. I own Glisten, a golden peachy pink that I feel is really flattering on me. I find that the blush has quite a lot of pigmentation and it does last 8 hours or more without fading for me.
Another popular product made with Amazonian Clay is the Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer. Many people find a matte bronzer a necessity for daily use to contour and sculpt the face. The Amazonian Clay in this product is supposed to help to balance the skin by reducing dryness and flakiness, improving clarity and texture, and removing surface oil. While I don’t use bronzer on a daily basis, I have tried the shade Park Ave Princess (light), since it’s in several of my favorite tarte palettes, including the Coral Crush Amazonian Clay Eye & Cheek Palette (see my review) and the Aqualillies for tarte Eye & Cheek Palette (see my review). (Vegan)
My favorite product made with Amazonian Clay is the Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse. I own the shades Taupe and Rich Brown (see my review), so that I can blend to match my brows. This product has a dry, but not drying, texture that makes it ideal for me to use to shape and fill in my brows. The clay in the brow mousse is supposed to minimize the oil around the hair, keeping the pigment in place. It also prevents flaking and transferring. I find this formula easy to work with. (Vegan)
My newest product with Amazonian Clay is the Colored Clay CC Primer. I purchased it in shade Fair. It’s supposed to help brighten the skin, even the skintone, blur imperfections and neutralize redness. As a primer, it can be worn on its own, used under a foundation, or with a setting powder. Tarte is cruelty free, PETA approved, and many products are vegan. I’m very happy with the Amazonian Clay products that I’ve purchased as they work really well for me.
