When I saw pictures of the Rescue Beauty Lounge Fan Collection I knew I had to have Aqua Lily. I own one other RBL polish, which is Scrangie. It’s great color and formula, so when I saw Aqua Lily, I knew I needed it too.

The story behind the color:
A few years ago, I was lucky enough to visit the Kuda Huraa Island of the Maldives. The turquoise water is a crystal-clear sea green and what really had me spellbound was that it reflected a shimmery-pink hue from the shedding scales of the colorful, vivid, and exotic tropical fish. This color is Kay-Di Kat’s homage to her beloved mom, Lily, who swims like an enchanting mermaid. I imagine Lily swimming in this paradise with its mesmerizing water in the Island of the Maldives.

The Fan collection consists of ikb:2012, Halcyon, Cuprum (cu) and Aqua Lily. Aqua Lily was the only must have color for me, though I really liked how ikb: 212 looked, and the other two shades were interesting.

$20 (plus $7.50 for shipping. Ouch.)

How I applied the color:
Base Coat – Cult Nails Get it On
Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily (2 coats)
Top Coat – Out the Door

Base Coat – Cult Nails Get it On
Evil Shades Phaedra’s Pink
Top Coat – Out the Door

Would I purchase again?
Yes. I would. I love the color.

I’m glad I splurged on Aqua Lily. It pains me to pay $7.50 shipping, but this polish is so worth it to me. I love the gorgeous turquoise with pink shimmer. It makes me think of Maui. I love the inspiration for the color and how it looks on the nails. If I want to up the amp of pink I think I even have a topcoat that can help with that.

Sadly, Aqua Lily is already sold out, as is ikb:2012. You can still get Halcyon and Cuprum (cu).

What do you think of Rescue Beauty Lounge? Did you like the Fan Collection? What do you think of Aqua Lily? Do you like it when companies do ‘fan’ collections or tributes?

Product purchased by me because this color was irresistible! All opinions are my own.
