Corrupt
Intense matte black with a very subtle sparkle
Corrupt is one of the best blacks that I’ve ever tried. It’s easy to work with and blend out. You can line with it, contour with it, do a smoky eye with it. It’s fabulous.

Vanilla Bean
pale creamy white demi matte
Vanilla Bean is an essential demi-matte highlighter. It’s great for blending out colors, as well. If you only ever have one highlighter, this one is perfect.

Poolside
Bright shimmery teal with specks of gold
This is one of the most beautiful bright teal blues I’ve ever seen. I love the gold flecks.

Moondust
metallic silver taupe
I know many of you are taupe lovers out there so I threw in this taupe because it’s beautiful and it has a great texture.

Cosmopolitan
Rose Gold with gold flecks and a shimmery finish
Rose gold is a very popular shade these days and the one from Makeup Geek is really pretty. It’s definitely a strong, as opposed to soft, rose gold shade.

Galaxy
metallic gunmetal
I love this color and I should use it more often. It’s a great deep grey for the crease and it’s easy to blend. If you’re looking for something that’s not as harsh as black, this is it.

Mercury
Metallic medium silver
Beautiful bright silver, this works well with Galaxy, Corrupt, Moondust, just about anything.

Fuji
matte apple green
I really like bright apple greens like this. It has a great texture and for bright, bold eyeshadow fans it’s a must.

Peacock
Peacock

Peacock
matte deep teal blue
This is a million times easier to work with than MAC Prussian. I personally love this shade to bits. It goes well with Poolside.

Makeup Geek Neptune
Neptune

Neptune
matte bright blue
This might be the brightest shade that Makeup Geek offers, and it’s a lot of fun. Wearing it on its own with a pair of lashes can be stunning.

Purely Naked
shimmery tan
This makes a great natural crease color with brights like Neptune or Poolside.

Duchess
matte cool purple
This is a stunning purple. You knew I had to throw in at least one purple, right? This is one that I actually need to pick up because every time I remember I need it, it’s out of stock. It’s very popular.

You can also mix shades like Duchess and Neptune, Duchess and Peacock, Neptune and Peacock, Neptune and Fuji, etc together to create some gorgeous combinations.

I love the fact that Makeup Geek eyeshadows are so affordable. The individual pans are $5.99 each ($7.99 if you want to get the compacts). You get .064 oz of product per pan. That’s more than a MAC refill pan at half the price. It’s a great deal! I recommend you get the individual pans and pick up a z-palette for your Muggie eyeshadows. I love my z-palettes and I have a ton of them at this point, as you probably noticed in my Makeup Collection videos. I will still probably pick up the Makeup Geek Exclusive Dark Raspberry z-palette next time I see it in stock.

What colors would you choose to start your Makeup Geek Collection? What are your favorites?

  1. i really love the look you did with cinderella, galaxy and moondust. i also really loved the poolside teal thursday look and the autumn song!

  2. Moondust is my favorite so far and it’s been tough not to use it in every smoky eye I’ve worn this fall. I like your recs and want to add Vanilla Bean, Corrupt, and Shimma Shimma to my list for my next order. I need some essential shades in my Z-Palette so it’s more versatile for travel.
